In this photo the main lighting is underlighting as the light in underneath the character. This type of lighting is mostly used in horror films. Underlighting is when the light comes from below or in front of the object or camera. Underlighting is key in showing the characters emotions as the rest of the picture is dark. It also shows that something bad is happening because it is has very depressing and dark colours.
