Citizen Kane Clip
In
the clip from Citizen Kane there are many different types of camera shots used
to show us which parts are most important. The timing between the different
shots are quite short also, they fade into each other. At the beginning there
is a close up on a sign that says ‘No Trespassing’ this indicates that
whatever s behind the fence is private and someone doesn't want people finding
out what is behind it. Then the shot fade out and shows a different type of
fence but is still close up. Now, the shot is still close up but has changed
into a part if gate then slowly fades out to a medium show which shows half of
the gate and a house in the distance. This shows that someone is living in the
house as you can see the lights are on. As the clip plays on the camera get
closer and closer to the house which implies that the action is going to be
happening in the house. It has also been showing us the surroundings of the
house which may give us an insight of who is living in the house and why they
are in a secluded area away from everyone else. As the camera shows a close up
of a window the light suddenly goes of which makes the audience certain that
someone is living in the house.
