Ill Manners - The making (Mr Halsey)

1. What does this tell us about Plan B's intentions in making the film?

Plan B's intentions was to show people how the youth grow up that live in urban estates and what type of circumstances they have and all the influences they have around them. He also shows how youths get the stereotypes and why they receive them. Plan B also had intentions of showing how youths get to where they are in the film.

2. What do we learn about the production process for Ill Manors?

The production process for Ill Manors was very hard as Ben Drew, the director came across some very difficult circumstances and problems. He had a small budget, problems with where they were filming and a lot of interruption from the public has they didn't like outsiders trespassing on their 'turf'.

3. What can you tell about the possible target audience form this short documentary?

From the documentary the possible target audience could be the youth that were rioting to show them that there isn't just that to do that there are alternatives. Also, the adults that despise the youth for rioting as they don't know what they were going through or why the decided to riot.

4.  Does the film successfully do what director, Ben Drew set out to achieve?

In my opinion I think that Ben Drew achieved some of the things he wanted to by showing the audience how the youth these days are brought up and what they face all the time. On the other hand I think he contradicted himself a little bit by using the character Riz Ahmed played because in the end he decided to change so the audience could be thinking why can't other youths change and back out of things just like Aaron did in the film.
